Product Overview

Xingshi calcined petroleum coke (CPC) with 98.5% fixed carbon ensures high conductivity and low impurity for aluminum smelting anodes

Production process

Raw material selection: Low sulfur petroleum coke (sulfur content<1.5%) is preferred, as excessive sulfur content can affect the 

quality of downstream products (such as the purity of electrolytic aluminum).

Calcination process:
In a vertical calcination furnace or rotary kiln, petroleum coke is heated to 1200-1500 ℃ under isolated air conditions.
Key reactions:
The volatile components (H2, CH4etc.) further precipitate, and the content decreases from 8% -15% of the coke to below 1%.
The carbon structure is rearranged to form tighter graphitized microcrystals, improving electrical and thermal conductivity.

Cooling and crushing: The calcined coke is cooled by water or air cooling and crushed to the desired particle size 

(such as 0-10mm, 10-20mm).
