Xingshi New Material  uses high-quality materials to sinter and synthesize sintered refined slag (calcium aluminate), which has the functions of rapid slag formation, arc burial, slag formation, absorption of steel inclusions and desulfurization. It has strong deoxidation and desulfurization effects, which can reduce gas and inclusions in steel. This product is made by sintering or melting various selected raw materials to produce minerals mainly composed of 12CaO · 7Al2O3, with a content greater than 85%. A large amount of calcified components can react with oxygen and sulfur in the molten steel to produce low melting point products that are easy to float up, achieving the purpose of purifying the molten steel. In ladle refining, it can effectively shorten the steelmaking time and has a strong ability to absorb non-metallic inclusions in steel, which has a significant effect on purifying the molten steel.

1、 Product features:

1.) A reasonable chemical composition is beneficial for quickly forming slag and shortening smelting time.

2.) Due to its fast slag formation, it can reduce the electricity consumption during refining time.

3.)Reduce the consumption of refractory materials in the ladle and increase the ladle age.

4.)Has good desulfurization and deoxygenation effects.

5.) Due to its low melting point, it has a good adsorption effect on impurities during ladle argon blowing and electric furnace tapping process.

6.) The ingredients are stable and uniform, and can be produced and packaged according to the user's required indicators.

2、 Metallurgical effect analysis

1.) Desulfurization

The desulfurization of refining agents during the refining process is mainly achieved by controlling the sulfur content in the steel through the ratio between the slag and the molten steel. Because sulfur is one of the common harmful elements in steel, it has many adverse effects on the properties of steel. Therefore, the greater the desulfurization ability of refining agents, the lower the sulfur content of molten steel.

2.) Deoxygenation

There are two different types of oxygen in molten steel: dissolved oxygen and compound oxygen. Compound oxygen can be removed by slag in the form of inclusions. During the refining process, a certain amount of deoxidizer is added to maximize the conversion of dissolved oxygen in the steel into oxides, which can be stirred upwards by its own buoyancy and suitable low blowing argon gas, and eventually enter the slag layer for adsorption. In addition, oxygen in slag and molten steel follows the law of distribution. When reducing refining agents come into contact with molten steel, dissolved oxygen in the steel can diffuse into the slag, thereby deoxidizing the molten steel.

3.) Adsorb impurities

During the refining process, due to the strong stirring effect of low blowing argon gas, the emulsified slag liquid comes into contact with the steel liquid over a large area, increasing the chance of contact between the slag liquid and impurities (especially large particles) in the steel. Since the refining slag is an ionic melt formed by the melting of oxides, and most impurities in the steel are also oxide melts, according to the principle of similar compatibility, impurities in the steel are easily integrated with the slag droplets, dissolved and combined with each other, forming larger slag droplets, and then capturing other impurity droplets. Large volume molten droplets, due to their greater buoyancy, will quickly float up and merge into the slag layer on the surface of the molten steel. Emulsified slag droplets can become nucleation crystals of deoxidation products, quickly forming stable compounds and reducing the chemical potential of deoxidation products in the molten steel. This accelerates the deoxidation reaction towards a favorable direction. Due to the high content of AL2O3 in the refining agent, the composition of the slag becomes very stable and will not change its properties with the entry of deoxidation products (AL2O3). Therefore, the refining agent always maintains a stable ability to deoxidize, desulfurize, and remove impurities.

4.) Protective effect on furnace lining

Due to the presence of about 8% -10% MgO in the refining agent, the MgO in the slag is basically saturated. Therefore, the MgO contained in the lining near the slag line can only dissolve in a small amount in the slag, thereby reducing the erosion of the lining. Secondly, the foaming and arc burying effect of the refining agent is good, reducing the arc erosion of the lining and improving the age of the lining.

5.) The ingredients can be adjusted according to the composition of the user's molten steel, and the indicators can be changed to meet the needs of refined steel.
